Two countries · one logic
Tanzania and Seychelles in one trip: how the two halves are joined
The fragile part of a two-country trip is neither the safari nor the yacht. It is the passage between them. The itinerary becomes dependable when baggage, recovery, a delayed flight and the yacht boarding are worked out before anyone pays for anything.

The order that works
A safari ends at a bush airstrip — Ndutu or Seronera — and continues as an international flight through Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar. Between that and stepping onto a yacht there should be a protected transfer and, as a rule, one night on Mahé.
After Kilimanjaro the requirement is firmer. A full recovery day is not a comfort but a condition: boarding a yacht the day you come down from altitude leaves no room for how the body actually behaves after a descent.
Why the buffer night is arithmetic, not caution
Light aircraft in Northern Tanzania fly from dirt strips and depend on weather. That is normal and it is not a defect of any particular carrier. What matters is what happens when a flight slips.
The published conditions of the regional carriers are explicit that a missed onward connection with another airline is not their responsibility. Read plainly: if the bush flight is late and the international departure is gone, nobody upstream owes you the new ticket. Operators themselves advise against connecting a bush flight to an international departure on the same day.
One night converts a chain of single points of failure into a schedule that survives a bad morning. It is the cheapest insurance in the whole itinerary.
Baggage is the second trap
Regional light aircraft allow around 15 kg per passenger in soft bags: with Coastal that includes hand baggage, while Auric allows five kilograms of hand luggage on top. A hard suitcase is not forbidden, but it has to fit the cargo door.
A two-country trip is exactly the case where this bites: mountain kit, wet dive gear and a week of resort clothing rarely fit inside that allowance. The answer is planned in advance — what is stored in Arusha or Mahé, what travels with you, what is bought locally rather than carried.
Why there is no single published price
The safari is priced in dollars and the yacht in euros. The total depends on the named lodges, one vehicle or two, the specific yacht and her capacity, the exchange rate on the day, and a confirmed flight between the two countries.
Each module can be shown as a working reference. Adding those references together while the air leg is still an estimate, and calling the result a price, is not a quotation — it is a guess with a total at the bottom.
What is known about a private air bridge
An indicative figure for a private Tanzania–Seychelles flight starts near USD 53,783 for a group of two to five and USD 57,473 for six to nine. Those numbers exclude airport charges, permits, taxes, aircraft positioning and any baggage restrictions.
For ten guests a larger aircraft or a second one may be required. This is why private aviation is always quoted as its own line after the group and its baggage are known, and never folded into a package price.
Who contracts with whom
Before any payment the proposal shows a map of roles: who signs the contract, who receives the money, who operates each module, and who answers when something fails or runs late.
A single elegant document without that map does not turn two operators and a carrier into one safe product. It only makes the seams harder to see.
Common questions
- How does the transition from Tanzania to the Seychelles actually work?
- The safari ends with a flight from the Ndutu or Seronera airstrip, then an international sector through Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar. We do not sell a direct private bridge between the two countries: it starts at USD 53,783 for the group — about USD 13,400 each for four, and twice that for two — and is a separate product rather than part of an itinerary.
- What does the internal flight out of Ndutu cost?
- The published fare on the Ndutu to Kilimanjaro sector is USD 411 plus USD 67 in taxes, about USD 478 per person. On some carriers and dates a seat costs less, nearer USD 390. Chartering the whole aircraft costs USD 4,148: on a per-seat basis it starts to beat the scheduled fare from about nine guests, but it runs into the aircraft’s capacity and the same baggage allowance.
- How much time should sit between the safari and the yacht?
- At least one night on Mahé. Light aviation depends on weather, and boarding a yacht on the day you land leaves no margin for a delay you cannot control.
- What happens if the bush flight is delayed?
- With a buffer night, nothing: you arrive later and still board as planned. Without one, the international sector is missed and, under the carriers' published conditions, that is the passenger’s problem rather than theirs. This is the single reason the buffer night is in the design.
- When does the Ndutu airstrip operate?
- Year-round. Coastal Aviation confirmed this in writing on 11 September 2026. The Ndutu to Kilimanjaro service routes via Arusha and, depending on how the day is loaded, via other Serengeti strips; the carrier issues the final routing and times the day before. Whether a particular day departs still depends on weather and the state of the dirt strip.
